🧱 In Touch Reno Supports Augusta’s $3.3M Push to Eliminate Lead Hazards

In November, the City of Augusta received a $3.3 million HUD grant to remove lead-based paint from homes across the city. This funding, part of HUD’s Lead Hazard Reduction program, will help protect low-income families — especially those with children — from the hidden dangers of lead exposure in homes built before 1978.

At In Touch Reno, we’re proud to be a Lead-Safe Certified Firm, licensed to support this initiative and perform the EPA-compliant work required for grant-funded and private lead hazard removal projects.

💰 About the Grant

  • Funding awarded: $3.3 million from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)

  • Administered by: Augusta Housing and Community Development

  • Target homes: Units built before 1978, especially those occupied by children under 6 or pregnant women

  • Goal: Eliminate lead-based paint hazards in at least 150 homes over the next 3.5 years

Augusta joins cities nationwide tackling this urgent health issue. According to the CDC, even small amounts of lead can cause developmental delays, learning disabilities, and behavioral issues in children.
